There has been a lot of talk about righties masquerading as supporters of various candidates to influence outcomes in the Dem nomination process. We know that it is true, but it is difficult to gauge the actual level.
Lately I have received some criticism for resorting to a ‘snarky’ tone and over-zealous criticism of Bernie and his supporters. I get it. It’s not my ‘go to’ and I would rather circumstances didn’t make me feel it is necessary.
But I do this a lot. I have MANY online interactions all day long. And I like to consider myself pretty objective. And it is my honest belief that there are quite a few more people – with nothing invested in a progressive agenda – supporting some Dem candidates than most people suspect.
So the other day I proposed an experiment: If you are wondering what kind of supporter you are in a discussion(or arguing :))with, ask them two questions:
• Are you a registered Democrat?
• Do you support President Obama?
I have found these two questions often tell you everything you need to know. You may be surprised at the responses. Disclosure: I am not a registered Democrat. However, I do not attack or criticize the Democratic Party, an organization that I am not a part of and do not contribute to in any way, which is the point of that question.
Give it a try. Let me know how it works out.
