Washington, D.C. politics are like a fun house mirror. No one ends up looking handsome. That’s why people have to be careful about making accusations without evidence. About criticizing the players as well as the results. It’s tough to see what is happening in that warped reflection.
That’s not to say we shouldn’t have high standards and high expectations. It is a reason to put criticism and investigation of the operation of the political system far ahead of personal recriminations.
