However, the movement began to grow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"image: David Shankbone\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/c\/c0\/Occupy_Wall_Street_Crowd_2011_Shankbone.JPG\/800px-Occupy_Wall_Street_Crowd_2011_Shankbone.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"346\" height=\"230\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As conservative elements began to denigrate OWS and\u00a0<a title=\"Politico -Tea Party vs OWS\" href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/1011\/65826.html\" target=\"_blank\">distance themselves<\/a>, and liberal elements <a title=\"VOA - OWS Political spin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/english\/news\/usa\/Republicans-Democrats-Put-Own-Spin-on-Occupy-Protests-131876003.html\" target=\"_blank\">tried to associate<\/a> themselves with the movement, the occupiers became more demonstrative, and the police more aggressive:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><object style=\"height: 320px; width: 380px;\" width=\"380\" height=\"320\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/iNyMr6VmGJo?version=3\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><embed style=\"height: 320px; width: 380px;\" width=\"380\" height=\"320\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/iNyMr6VmGJo?version=3\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" allowScriptAccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, even in the most free country in the world, with the Arab Spring fresh in our memories, the establishment still doesn&#8217;t seem to understand the impact of their actions combined with today&#8217;s instantaneous communications. With every arrest, with <a title=\"OWS - police punch\" href=\"http:\/\/therationalprogressive.com\/cms\/2011\/10\/ows-cop-punches-female-demonstrator-to-the-ground\/\" target=\"_blank\">every punch<\/a> thrown by law enforcement, with <a title=\"OWS - tents removed\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chieftain.com\/news\/local\/police-dismantle-occupy-denver-tent-city\/article_0e57ffbc-f6f0-11e0-bd6b-001cc4c002e0.html\" target=\"_blank\">every tent<\/a> torn down, with <a title=\"OWS - US Flag thrown down\" href=\"http:\/\/therationalprogressive.com\/cms\/2011\/10\/boston-police-throw-american-flag-to-ground-arrest-veterans-trash-property-to-protect-%e2%80%98green-space%e2%80%99-from-99-percent\/\" target=\"_blank\">every flag<\/a> thrown to the ground, they are inspiring the movement they are every day becoming more desperate to control. Ironically, this disconnect, this lack of understanding of the motives and the sensibilities of the Occupy movement, demonstrates clearly why the movement is important, and necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the reluctance of the mainstream news outlets to treat the movement as more than a curiosity, reports are coming from around the country, and around the globe as the movement spreads. As the sense that leaders do not want to listen and do not want to change the status quo gets stronger, so does the movement.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the <a title=\"OWS - National Spread\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/rs\/2011\/09\/26\/occupy-wall-street-protest-slowly-spreads-across-the-united-states\/\" target=\"_blank\">movement has spread<\/a> to cities like San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Richmond, D.C., Seattle, Detroit, Cleveland, Phoenix, and Kansas City. This morning as reports come in from around the world, even the mainstream media is <a title=\"OWS - Google news search\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?aq=f&amp;gcx=c&amp;ix=c2&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;q=freest#sclient=psy-ab&amp;hl=en&amp;safe=off&amp;source=hp&amp;q=occupy+global+movement&amp;pbx=1&amp;oq=occupy+global+movement&amp;aq=f&amp;aqi=&amp;aql=1&amp;gs_sm=e&amp;gs_upl=14170l15016l1l15323l7l5l0l0l0l3l270l975l0.4.1l5l0&amp;bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&amp;fp=a7d5b7030ebfa2c5&amp;biw=1308&amp;bih=909\" target=\"_blank\">beginning to take notice<\/a>.
