Violence and warfare have been <a href=\"http:\/\/bigthink.com\/videos\/steven-pinker-on-data-and-the-history-of-violence\" target=\"_blank\">declining<\/a> since World War II.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Respect for civil and human rights in the U.S. is growing greater every day. More police are wearing cameras, and more are being held accountable for their illegal actions. Everyone can now be married legally. Access to health care without being financially ruined is now considered more of a priority than ever.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The father of the Irving, Texas\u00a0student arrested for his home-made clock <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/local-news\/20160808-irving-clock-boy-s-father-sues-city-school-district-principal-for-blatant-disregard-of-civil-rights.ece\" target=\"_blank\">has filed a lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0against the school district for civil rights violations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Last Friday the Obama administration released a redacted version of its anti-terrorism policy, which includes the process of selecting targets and the use of &#8220;lethal force&#8221; against them.
