\u201cThis is a campaign which I think will come into focus as the debates occur,\u201d Romney said, according to a transcript released by ABC of Romney\u2019s sit-down with \u201cGood Morning America\u2019s\u201d George Stephanopoulos. \u201cThe president got a bit of a bump after his convention. I got a bit of a bump after ours. It\u2019s going to go back and forth.\u201d<\/p>\n
The debates, including the vice presidential debate, he said, could \u201cwell be a decisive point in the campaign,\u201d and he added that while he wouldn\u2019t try to predict the outcome, he thought they would be \u201crevealing one way or another.\u201d<\/p>\n
Romney also suggested that Obama might be untruthful during the debates.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I think the challenge that I\u2019ll have in the debate is that the president tends to, how shall I say it, to say things that aren\u2019t true,\u201d Romney said, adding, \u201cI\u2019ve looked at prior debates. And in that kind of case, it\u2019s difficult to say, \u201cWell, am I going to spend my time correcting things that aren\u2019t quite accurate? Or am I going to spend my time talking about the things I want to talk about?\u201d<\/p>\n
